Homeless Man Throws Shopping Cart At Face Of Safeway Worker, Assaults Officer: Fairfax PD

A homeless man is facing charges after authorities say he threw a shopping cart at the face of a Safeway worker then assaulted an officer in Fairfax.

Javonne Simms, 31, had gotten into an argument with the employee of the Willard Way store on Friday, March 29, local police said.

He was later identified as a suspect and taken into custody. During his arrest, Simms assaulted an officer, police said.

He was charged with malicious wounding, assault on an officer, and more.
